Cover, observe, protect.
While on the land, observing the the day-to-day of the vineyards and catering to the individual needs of our varieties, time has taught us a very important task: to regenerate the vineyard. If a vine is unwell, the priority is to recover it using long-term soil treatments or direct removal of the damaged parts.
Land of life.
Depending on the climatic conditions of a given year, we give the soil what it needs to nurture the vines. In between the rows, we plant companion crops such as oats and legumes, which help oxygenate and restore balance. When appropriate, we apply compost made from organic manure. We may also use vegetable mixes made from chamomile, arnica montana, silica, etc.
No rigid formulas.
All of these decisions respond to the moment. To sow vegetable coverings or provide nutrients, there are no strict formulas or recipes—only observation and adaptation to the environment. Week to week, we analyse the needs of the organic vineyard with the mission of maintaining the balance between soils, vines and the ecosystem.
We work by hand.

A stress-free vineyard.
We help the vineyard to find harmony, health and expression. We do not seek high performance, but rather balanced performance. Without pressure or stress, the vines respond with subtle joy. We can see it in each harvest, which we prolong as needed for the grapes from each plot to reach the bodega with optimal ripeness and acidity.
Cruz de Alba style.
Years of conscientious practice and the quest for expression of the terroir have led us to an undeniable truth: biodynamics gives Cruz de Alba greater acidity and a grape profile that is both juicier and fruitier.
The role of the winery is crucial: selecting yeasts that are native to the vineyard, cultivating each plot separately, carrying out racking in accordance with the biodynamic calendar, and using large formats like 500-litre barrels to ferment and refine.
Cruz de Alba wines are a true reflection of their origins and the conditions of the year. Expressive, vibrant and uniquely pleasant, they beat with the life of the vineyard.
